This trip was the second half of our honeymoon, and it was a phenomenal experience. Since we were coming from the USA, Rodolfo’s help in booking our bus tickets to and from Huaraz as well as hotel accommodation were extremely helpful and made organizing this portion of our trip very easy and simple. We have been on guided mountaineering trips in the USA, and the guide on this trip was even more knowledgeable and safe. He tailored the instruction to our abilities and what we wanted to learn. As a teacher, he was very patient and allowed us to figure some things out on our own as he watched and waited to comment. He was efficient in leading during the summit day, and adapted to the snow conditions and weather so as to minimize risk as much as possible. He was also very neat and tidy with his rope work, and anchor building which made me feel more trusting of relying on the anchors he built. Overall, I could not imagine a better guide for the area, and if I get a chance to climb in the Cordillera Blanca again, I would not think twice of choosing Rodolfo as my guide.

This has been by far the best guided trip we have done in South America. The day length was sometimes short but the side trips made up for this & were a good challenge. We will be back!

Three of us undertook the Huayhuash Mountains mini trek in August 2013, what an experience and what a place – truly awesome! The trip came together with thanks to Rodolfo; he assisted with pre-trip arrangements and upon us arriving in Huaraz, that assistance continued. His extensive local knowledge helped us with acclimatisation walks and public transport. Rodolfo’s guidance and pace during the trek was excellent, as was his back up team (donkey driver & cook) who provided a great service!.
