HIKING ITINERARY

Our Laguna Mullaca and Carhuac Lakes Hike is a great hiking option for a trekking or climbing preparation and known to very few hikers. We start our walking adventure with a journey to above Chavin village at 3890m, we drive through some Andean villages for about one hour having the opportunity to see local shepherds and farmers working on the fields using traditional methods. From the trailhead we start walking up to Laguna Radian Lake 3990m which hides in the middle of Quenual trees, it is a natural mirror of the mountains of the Cordillera Blanca Mountain Range offering unique views of mounts Huandoy, Huascaran the highest mountain in Peru and among others. 

We continue towards Laguna Mullaca and Carhuac Lakes at 4580m. the trail winds on the hillside before getting to a saddle and follows an ancient water channel through quenual trees and climbs up to our final adventure destination Mullaca and Carhuac Lakes. After a great break we come down the same way to the car and drive back to Huaraz. 7 – 8 hours walk.
